Ashford Borough Council hosts the first Housing Plus Trailblazer conference in the South East

Up to 100 housing specialists arrived in Ashford on Friday 21 May 2010 for a one-off housing conference hosted by Ashford Borough Council.

Ashford Borough Council’s Housing Options team organised the first ever South East housing Trailblazer conference to showcase their innovative approach to providing housing advice.

The conference was held in conjunction with Communities and Local Government (CLG) to share information about new approaches to delivering housing options and advice services.

Ashford, along with 11 other councils across the country was selected to receive government funding to offer a greater range of advice to people looking for housing under the (CLG) Enhanced Housing Options Trailblazer programme. The council received £320,000 to improve housing advice and options in the borough over a three year period.

Digital content creation agency Lavender Blue Media who are based in Sittingbourne, Kent were commissioned to produce a short film to support the event.
