Ecommerce Expo 2010- reflects the growth of Ecommerce in UK
Ecommerce Expo 2010 opened its doors last week to more than 4,915 visitors, the highest number ever and an increase of 22%! The buzz and excitement on the show floor was contagious, while the evening of Ecommerce Awards celebrated the best in the business and looked to the industry leaders for the future in ecommerce excellence. With the internet now making up the UK’s fifth largest economic sector, Ecommerce Expo 2010 was certainly a reflection of its continued growth.
New Group Event Manager, Andy Kiwanuka commented on his first bumper year onsite, “The UK is leading the world in ecommerce and the show certainly showcased this by bringing together the industries best and brightest. The visitor numbers and buzz on the showfloor really reflects the importance of ecommerce to business and the UK economy. The world will be looking at the UK’s ecommerce industry for the latest trends, innovation and technology and Ecommerce Expo has certainly exposed the excitement for its future! With the influence of UBM, Ecommerce Expo has been a smash in 2010. The industry should brace itself for next years Ecommerce Expo!”
The exhibitors also commented on Ecommerce Expo’s unique attraction. Tatiana Vorontsova, Marketing Manager at emarsys UK said “We’re very pleased with the quantity and quality of visitors to the show. We met some very relevant people who are the key decision makers and directly responsible for online or email marketing for their organisations. And we’ve already re-booked for next year!” While the guys at Adobe Scene 7 said “Great show, very busy! There is a broader spectrum of people at Ecommerce Expo which is great for us, we only exhibit at one other event, and Ecommerce is great because it really targets the right audience for our business.”
Business is booming in the Ecommerce industry and the conference programme reflected this, providing insight into the future of customer conversion & retention, digital marketing & social media and multichannel retailing from the companies who have contributed to ecommerce success. Speakers and case studies included: New Look, Argos, Google, Amazon, Barclaycard, RBS Worldpay, PayPal and eBay. The seminar sessions were a huge attraction, with seats filling up with attendees eager to get latest in ecommerce and digital innovation.
Commenting on Ecommerce Expo 2010 the team from dotMailer said “Ecommerce Expo is great for us. It provides a different set of people and always has hidden gems. There’s a great crowd, it was so busy we ran out of brochures!” While Katrin Jaehnke responsible for International Business at Fact Finder said “Exhibiting at Ecommerce Expo allows us to gain brand recognition. Celebrating the Ecommerce stars, the Awards ceremony, on the opening night of the exhibition, announced ASOS as the Best Direct Retailer & Best user of Social Media and Kiddicare as the provider of Best Customer Experience, but the stars of the night were Marks and Spencer who scooped an amazing 4 awards, including the Online Gold Award.
