Clean energy cash back for businesses and households which generate low carbon electricity

From April, businesses, communities and householders will be encouraged to generate small scale low carbon electricity for the national grid.  Those who invest in energy generating technologies such as wind turbines and solar panels will be paid for the electricity generated through index linked feed-in tariffs and save on bills.  For example, power from solar panels could earn £900 and save £140 on the household energy bill.  The scheme will be administered by Ofgem. … Continue Reading

Swale Borough Council has given Kent Science Park the green light to go for growth after it granted permission to extend the Sittingbourne-based development and create room for a further 500 much-needed new jobs.

The investment, worth in the region of £15-20m over the next five years, will see the Park extended by four hectares (10 acres) from its current 22 to 26 hectares. The award recognised the development of Ecologia’s decontamination technique, which uses its patented Radio Frequency technology to extract volatile chemicals from contaminated land without the cost of removing the soil to landfill.
