Clean energy cash back for businesses and households which generate low carbon electricity

Research and development work carried out at Kent Science Park, Sittingbourne, has helped an inventor walk away from this year’s British Invention Show with a host of top awards.

Held at Alexandra Palace, the British Invention Show is the UK’s largest innovation event and it was a great year for Alexander Bushell whose creations won four awards. Judges from the British Inventor’s Society weighed up factors including ecological and social benefits to mankind, as well as design, ingenuity and originality.

A Kent-based company is continuing on the road to success after signing another licensing deal that will enable its Fuel-Saving technology to be manufactured, sold and installed in the Baltic States.

Oil Drum, based at the University of Kent in Canterbury, has awarded an exclusive licence to European renewable energy company UAB Hydro2. Council leaders and wildlife experts have launched a campaign to halt the Mayor of London’s plans for an airport on the Thames Estuary.

Green Light Granted for Growth

Swale Borough Council has given Kent Science Park the green light to go for growth after it granted permission to extend the Sittingbourne-based development and create room for a further 500 much-needed new jobs.

The investment, worth in the region of £15-20m over the next five years, will see the Park extended by four hectares (10 acres) from its current 22 to 26 hectares. The groundbreaking work of Ecologia, an environmental consultancy and contractor based at Kent Science Park, near Sittingbourne, has won the ‘most innovative’ category at the Brownfield Briefing Remediation Innovation Awards for its radiowave technology developed and piloted in Kent.

The award recognised the development of Ecologia’s decontamination technique, which uses its patented Radio Frequency technology to extract volatile chemicals from contaminated land without the cost of removing the soil to landfill.
